Every five years, The Nautical Institute carries out its President’s Questionnaire(https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NauticalInstitute)
We ask our members to highlight their significant interests and concerns and we use this information to shape our Strategic Plan for the next five years.
It is very important to us that we effectively represent the interests of our members and of the greater maritime community, and the President’s Questionnaire is a key tool in achieving this.
The time has come, and I would ask each and every one of you to spare approximately ten minutes to take part in this survey. No matter where you are in your career, we want to know what most concerns you.
Through the years I have participated in this survey on each occasion. This has reassured me that The Nautical Institute is truly speaking on my behalf. For example, the early involvement of The Nautical Institute in discussions regarding the development and acceptance of ECDIS was largely based on views expressed by our members.
We have moved on since then, of course, and now we represent your interests in alternative fuels, the revisions of STCW and other significant developments in our industry.
Will these remain relevant for the next five years or are there other matters of concern to you? Now is your chance to share your thoughts.
Our mission is to inspire the leaders of the future in the maritime industry. Help us enable better decision-making, share ideas and best practice and contribute to a safer, environmentally sound and sustainable maritime industry.
Thank you in advance,
Capt. Trevor Bailey MNM CMMar FNI
President of The Nautical Institute
