On June 23, 2023, the Maritime Day Sea of Grain conference was held in the center of Odessa. The event brought together grain and trade business professionals for speeches, business communication, and networking, uniting their common interests.
It was the first unmissable conference for a long time. It was a great opportunity to spend the weekend with benefits and a change of scenery.
Conference speakers discussed maritime and grain business, shared their impressions of the past year, market changes, and expectations for the future, as well as shared their victories and successes.
The announced surprise for delegates was the Report for the second quarter of 2023 by BIMCO, the event partner.
The first section, moderated by Arthur Nitsevych, Interlegal partner, touched on the following topics:
– logistical successes of the year
– new reality of grain export via the Black Sea,
– failures of the year,
– port infrastructure preservation,
– development of logistics on the Danube,
– plans and forecasts for the industry.
Speakers were delegates of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, Ukrainian Grain Association, USPA, Maersk Ukraine, and other entities.
The second section, moderated by Nikolay Melnykov, Interlegal partner & Deputy Chairman of the Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, offered current case studies.
Speakers, including well-known experts from various industries, shared their experience and skills on the most relevant topics:
– privatization of Odesa Region sea ports,
– compensation for losses due to russia’s hostilities,
– entry into contracts and risks in maritime trade,
– new practices and risks for charterers and cargo owners.
The Maritime Day Sea of Grain conference was a successful event that brought together grain and trade business professionals where they could share experience, get acquainted and collaborate.
