I had the pleasure of meeting with Professor Vladimir Torskiy , FNI, Honorary Secretary of the The Nautical Institute of Ukraine, who stood at the origins of the Ukrainian branch and has tirelessly supported its activities for more than 25 years.
It was an honour to welcome him to Одесский Национальный Морской Университет.
We discussed prospects for cooperation in promoting safety standards in the maritime industry, strengthening the connection between maritime education and professional practice, and supporting the development of competencies required by the modern shipping sector.
Cooperation with professional organizations such as the Nautical Institute plays an important role in aligning maritime education with the needs of the industry and advancing a strong culture of safety at sea.
