As a result of a tender of the European Union, with Publication Reference EuropAid/120541/C/Sv/Multi, we can announce with pleasure that the award for the project entitled: Maritime Training: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine has been given to the Consortium of Partners as follows:
The Council decided by acclamation to renew Mr. Mitropoulos’s mandate for another four-year term
Mr. Efthimios E. Mitropoulos outlined his agenda for the future as the IMO Council confirmed its support for his continuing to serve the Organization as Secretary-General for another four years.

Intermepa moves on the road towards ‘UNITING THE WORLD’S PEOPLE’
The four founding members of the International Marine Environment Protection Association, Intermepa, June 6 signed the legal document/ Articles of the Association, which within days is expected to make Intermepa a legal entity by decision of the Greek Courts.
IMO Meetings during 2006-2007
For approximately 12 months between the summers of 2006 and 2007, the IMO Headquarters building will be refurbished. The IMO Secretariat will work out of offices provided by the Host Government, located at No. 55 Victoria Street, London, and the meetings of the Council, Committees and Sub Committees will be held elsewhere in London and abroad.

P&I veteran on the move:Phil Anderson moves on after 25 years in P&I
Dr Phil Anderson, director of risk management at North of England P&I Association, has decided to relinquish his position at the 50 million GT, A- rated club to devote more time to his two-year role as president of the Nautical Institute and to pursue his interests in the ISM Code – on which he is now internationally recognised a leading expert.

It was a great honour and a pleasure for me to be invited to participate in the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the Odessa National Maritime Academy. In fact it was a double pleasure for it allowed me to not only visit this world famous maritime Academy but also to meet with the committee and members of the Nautical Institute of the Ukraine.
Capt. Martin Scott is new master of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners
Capt. Scott, who retired from the Holland America Line in 2004 after 12 years in command in their Windstar fleet, succeeds the Princess Royal, HRH Princess Anne, who had been Master of the Company for the previous two years.
